Advancing New Health Checkup DX Connecting Checkup Centers, Examinees and Companies
KarteCo Inc. (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hiroyuki Iwasaki; hereinafter “KarteCo”) has entered a business partnership with Personal Health Tech Co., Ltd. (head office: Osaka City, Osaka; Representative Director: Tetsuya Nitta; hereinafter “PHT”), which provides the corporate health management service “Kensapo,” and will begin building a new health checkup DX that connects health checkup centers, examinees (employees) and companies.
Through this partnership, by combining KarteCo’s “KarteCo Health Checkup Service” with PHT’s “Kensapo,” the two companies aim to provide health checkup centers with “new value that is chosen by companies and examinees,” companies with “more efficient health management operations,” and examinees with “a checkup experience that leads to their next health action.”
KarteCo Health Checkup Service
KarteCo’s “KarteCo Health Checkup Service,” in addition to delivering checkup results digitally, makes use of AI-based future disease prediction, aiming for a checkup experience that connects checkup results to the “next medical action.”
In addition to letting examinees check their checkup results and changes over time on a smartphone or other device, AI predicts disease risk three years ahead based on checkup results and questionnaires. This creates an opportunity for examinees to understand their future health risk and proactively choose necessary secondary checkups, screenings or the following year’s checkup options.
For health checkup centers as well, in addition to reducing operational work and costs through going paperless, this leads to new value such as a pathway to secondary checkups and screenings, and an ongoing point of contact with examinees.
Connecting “Once-a-Year Checkups” and “365 Days of Health”
In addition to the health checkup field, KarteCo has developed its own sensing technology in which AI selects and analyzes the optimal information according to the measurement environment. Using a smartphone or other device, it easily visualizes day-to-day changes in health condition, such as autonomic nervous system balance, fatigue and stress.
“Once-a-year” information obtained from checkups, and “365-day” information obtained from sensing. By connecting health information across these different timeframes, this will be developed into a data platform that continuously captures the health condition of each individual.
New Value for All Three Parties Through the Partnership with PHT
The format and management method of checkup data differs from one health checkup center to another, and companies bear a heavy operational burden in collecting and organizing it, tracking who has been examined, and encouraging examinees to attend.
PHT’s “Kensapo,” which has a track record of adoption by 1,500 companies in Japan, manages checkup data gathered from different health checkup centers in a unified way, and supports health management for companies and employees through checkup result management, encouragement to attend, stress checks, health and productivity management support, and more.
This partnership combines the points of contact that KarteCo Health Checkup Service has with checkup centers and examinees, with the health management of companies and employees that Kensapo has, connecting checkups and health management that were previously carried out separately.
This provides the following value to each of the health checkup centers, companies, and examinees (employees).
Not Letting a Checkup End with Just “Being Examined”
KarteCo and PHT will connect health checkup centers, examinees and companies, and will work to realize a new health checkup DX that, rather than letting a checkup end with just “being examined,” connects checkup results to the next health action.
