MISSION

Create an environment where everyone
becomes well without even thinking about it

Deliver richer living environments to everyone
through AI, robotics and sensing

MESSAGE FROM THE CONTROLLER

In 2003 I founded Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. and built a working model for collecting medical data from hospitals — something everyone said was impossible at the time. Hospitals were struggling under the pressure to change, and we were of service to them by applying our own original thinking and providing the systems each moment called for. By steadily earning trust, we were able to build a medical database. Today that data covers more than half of the population of Japan and contributes greatly to the medical and health fields.

In this way,

a business story that sets out to change the future turns the impossible into the possible.

Now it is KarteCo's turn.

Several original service concepts, and the large benefit to the public created by connecting those services together. Value creation.
Ultra-high-speed development through AI, for complete differentiation.
Operation and maintenance grounded in knowledge of the fields where our services are delivered.
Dynamic collaboration and growth built on fairness and contracts with partners outside the company.
Administrative work with the meaningless and the wasteful stripped away.

With this strength of ours,

everyone, “without being aware of it,”

lives in an environment that makes them well.

can build and make use of an AI that is theirs alone.

has efficient purchasing infrastructure at home.

These are what we will realize,

growing as a company defined by speed and safety, with the future, value creation and people as our themes.
We want as many companies, facilities and people as possible to know what KarteCo is and what our system services can do.

President and Representative Director (Controller)Hiroyuki Iwasaki

ORGANIZATION

Pentagon

Decide quickly. Execute powerfully.

As an organization grows, roles are divided ever more finely, more departments become involved, and decisions come to be made through repeated coordination and consensus. When the task is to create a new business, however, that same structure can blunt speed. KarteCo concluded that it should not simply inherit the structure of a large organization.

KarteCo has five organizations: Business Planning, Planning Promotion, Planning and Operations, Corporate Management, and Development. All five are moved by a single will, held by the Controller at the center. This organizational shape, unique to KarteCo, is the “PENTAGON.”

Information and decision-making are gathered to the Controller, and each Wonder thinks, executes, and delivers results on their own.

Five organizations. One point of decision. And the power to execute in each.

Concentrate decision-making, maximize the power to execute.

That is the shape of the organization that lets KarteCo generate speed.

ROLE

CONTROLLER Know everything, decide quickly.

Representative

At KarteCo we call the representative director the “Controller.” The company’s important information is gathered to the Controller, who looks across the whole company, sets priorities, and moves people and organizations. The reason is to avoid losing speed in decision-making.

Rather than repeating cross-departmental coordination and consensus, the Controller grasps the whole, judges, and decides the next action. Of course, the Controller does not execute everything. The Controller decides, and the Wonders realize it. This clear division of roles is what carries us from concept to execution at overwhelming speed.

WONDER Make the impossible possible.

Executive Officer

What the Controller sets out is a high demand and a future that must be realized. How do we get there? Devising that method, moving people, gathering the strengths required, and delivering it as a result — that is the role of a Wonder.

“Generally, that is difficult.”“Normally you cannot go that far.”“There is no precedent.”

We do not allow such fixed assumptions to become reasons why something cannot be done. Thinking for ourselves along the business story, undeterred by what is called impossible, we find the way to make it possible and turn it into a result. That is why KarteCo calls this role WONDER — the one who makes the impossible possible.

REGULAR Each person, the strength of five.

General Manager to Staff

KarteCo does not try to build a strong company through headcount. Each person refuses to stay inside their own assignment; they think, judge, and act for themselves. While holding deep expertise, they step beyond their own domain when needed and create results together with the Wonders.

What KarteCo asks of a Regular is not to get through the work they are handed. It is for each person to deliver the strength of five. Not “we cannot, because we are few,” but “because we are few, we maximize what each person can do.” Regulars are what sustain KarteCo’s overwhelming ability to execute.

VENDOR Our allies, outside the company.

Partner Companies

KarteCo does not need to hold every strength it requires in-house. Technology. Expertise. Development capability. Services. Knowledge of the market and of the front line. We build businesses together with the companies and professionals who hold what is needed, across the boundary of the company itself.

For KarteCo, a vendor is not merely a place to send orders or outsource work. More than the distinction between employee and outsider, what matters is whether we can bring our strengths to bear together toward the same business story. That is why at KarteCo we regard our vendors as “our allies.”
